What do you do when you lose all hope? Sometimes you burn it down. Jen Silverman’s Witch, a riff on the 15th century fable The Witch of Edmonton, takes place in a sleepy town where the Devil has come to call. Immediately capturing the souls of two young men through a slick bargain he soon finds out that his greatest challenge, and most worthy opponent, will be Elizabeth– an outcast everyone already assumes is a witch. With wry wit and humor this fiercely feminist play looks at what is wrong with humanity, and how we can ever hope to fix it.
